Study via face to face intensives; supported by Learner Guide, Assessment Guide; Online Seminars.
Study in a face to face classroom environment; supported by our Facilitator, Learner Guide, Assessment Guide; Practical Activities and Class Discussion. Partial completion of Assessment Guides can be achieved in class time with the balance of Assessments completed in your own time.
Nominal minimum hours of study plus individual research and on the job application is 1,200 - 2,400 hours (normally over a period of 12-24 months); OR approximately 10 hours research and study per week (face-to-face/online) for 12 months from commencement. During the balance of the time, learners will be engaged in work-based/simulated work-based (portfolio building) activities and assessments.

This qualification adds skills that meet national and international requirements in auditing, in addition to risk management, evaluation, understanding legislation and much more. It reflects the role of practitioners who apply advanced practical knowledge to coordinate, facilitate and maintain the Work Health and Safety (WHS) program in one or more fields of work in an organisation, such as a WHS practitioner or HR practitioner. They may work under the guidance of occupational health and safety professional.

This qualification is suitable for people who coordinate and maintain the Work Health and Safety (WHS) program in an organisation, such as Senior Consultant to WHS Management, WHS Advisor, WHS Auditor, WHS Manager, WHS Risk Officer, WHS Specialist.
The Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety requires the completion of five (5) core & three (3) elective units.
5 Core Units:
BSBWHS601 Apply legislative frameworks for WHS
BSBWHS602 Facilitate WHS activities
BSBWHS603 Implement WHS risk management
BSBWHS604 Evaluate the WHS performance of organisations
BSBWHS605 Develop, implement & maintain WHS management systems
- 1 elective unit must be from the listed electives in the Packaging Rules
- up to 2 electives may be selected from the listed electives in the Packaging Rules, or from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course at Advanced Diploma level
- if not listed, 1 elective unit may be selected from a Diploma of any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited the course
Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

BSBWHS607 Apply ergonomics to manage WHS hazards and risks
BSBWHS608 Assist with applying occupational hygiene to manage WHS hazards and risks
BSBWHS609 Advise on the application of safe design principles to control WHS risks
All core units from BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to the following units which have been mapped as equivalent:

BSBWHS503 Contribute to the systematic management of WHS risk
BSBWHS504 Manage WHS risks
BSBWHS505 Investigate WHS incidents
BSBWHS506 Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining WHS management systems
Articulation Pathways from the Qualification
On completion of this course, you could consider higher qualifications in this Training Package, the Training Package area of your vocational competence, i.e. Advanced Diploma of Work Health & Safety (BSB60615) or in the higher education sector. For instance, you may specialise in the Graduate Certificate in Management (Learning) (BSB80515), or Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) (BSB80615) or Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership (BSB80215).
