Injury Management & RTW Coordinators

The Injury Management & RTW Coordinators course is for people who have responsibility for injured workers in their organisation. It develops the participant’s understanding of the rights and obligations for all parties involved in the workers’ compensation and Injury Management process as per the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 of WA.

Participants may obtain credits on successful completion of the competencies, for one or both of these two units, towards a Diploma of Work Health and Safety or Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety. 

This course is facilitated in association with Resolve Workplace Health and Injury Management. Resolve are a leading provider of specialised training for injury management, return to work and workers compensation programs, aimed at people whom are responsible for injured workers in their organisation, including the handling the claims and legislative processes or supervising personnel in Return to Work (RTW) programs.

In addition, Resolve design and manage outcome focused, individualised programs and services to achieve a return-to-work for your injured employees in the most efficient, cost effective and sustainable manner for all parties.

Course Content

  • Practical application of the legislative requirements as per the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 of WA.
  • Development of Return to Work programs
  • Effective consultation and communication with key parties-Insurer, Broker, Treating Doctor, Injured Employee, Workplace Managers.
  • Completing appropriate documentation, record keeping and case notes.
  • Data management and analysis
  • Strategic case management
A Statement of Attendance is issued on successful completion.
 
The  course contains all elements of the nationally recognised units :
  • BSBWHS407  Assist with claims management, rehabilitation and return to work programs
  • BSBHRM509 Manage rehabilitation or return to work programs

Note: Students may also choose to complete formal assignments and be assessed against national competencies. An additional charge of $200/unit applies and on achievement of completencies, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit(s) is issued.
